CCDCMBA Fall 2006 Class

Carson City-Douglas County MBA Cohort Program

We at the University of Nevada, Reno’s College of Business Administration are proud to announce the offering of a Carson City-Douglas County MBA cohort program, with the course offerings in August of 2005 and classes running until through Fall 2008. Our MBA Program is among a select group of U.S. graduate business programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the highest level of accreditation attainable in business education. This MBA cohort program is being supported in part by generous donations from General Electric (GE) and the Starbucks Coffee Company, as well as by collaboration with University of Nevada, Reno Extended Studies. We are also grateful that Western Nevada Community College is working with us to make their Douglas County facilities available for holding the classes.

The mission of our MBA program is to prepare outstanding men and women to be general managers, executives and leaders in a diverse and changing business environment. The program consists of three components:

Core – The core curriculum is designed to provide students with an introduction to the common body of knowledge and core skills necessary to the practice of general management.

Breadth – The breadth curriculum is designed to expose, broaden, deepen and diversify knowledge and skills in critical and emerging areas of business.

Electives – The purpose of electives is to provide scheduling flexibility to students. For example, students have the opportunity to do independent study.

We believe that you will find our MBA Program emphasizes those skills in demand in today’s dynamic work environment: communications, critical thinking, integration, teamwork and a global perspective.

Our Carson City-Douglas County MBA program accommodates the needs of part-time students by offering courses in Minden on two selected weekday evenings, 6:00-9:00PM in the Fall and Spring semesters, and in an intensive evening schedule during the Summer. The program allows you to complete your degree without the interruption of your professional career.

Choosing whether to obtain an MBA and where to obtain it are important decisions. We hope the information provided will assist you in determining whether an MBA from the College of Business Administration at the University of Nevada, Reno would be the best for you. If there is any additional information we can provide, please feel free to contact us.
