both locally and nationally. The College also has several
specialized organizations with which students can become
involved.
Center for Logistics Management
The Center for Logistics Management was established in 1988 to
combine the resources of the business community and the University
to focus on the field of logistics management. The center is
aggressively utilizing this alliance by providing companies
throughout the United States with a pool of graduates with
specialized training in logistics, continuing education programs
to train current employees, and ongoing research efforts to
address the challenge ahead in one of today's fastest moving
fields.
Institute for the Study of Gambling
& Commercial Gaming
The Institute for the Study of Gambling was formed in 1989 with
the mission of broadening the base of knowledge and understanding
of gaming in public policy in Nevada, the United States, and
throughout the world.
Nevada Small Business Development Center
The Nevada Small Business Development Center (NSBDC) is a
cooperative effort between the University and the United States
Small Business Administration. Counselors provide services to
existing and new small business enterprises throughout the state
by helping them through all individual service areas, including
assistance with business start-up, sources of capital, marketing,
financial analysis, invention assessment, planning for growth,
computer systems, and personnel issues.
