Accounting
The accounting major provides the theories and procedures which prepare the student for
the many facets of the accounting profession such as public,
industrial, managerial, tax, and governmental accounting.
Economics
The economics major is designed to prepare students for
positions in economic and statistical analysis in business,
government, and nonprofit organizations, and for the
teaching profession. In addition, it provides a strong
foundation for graduate study and research in the fields of
economic, business, public policy, and law. Degrees are
offered at both the undergraduate, and for a small selected
group, the graduate level.
Finance
The finance major provides students knowledge essential for careers in financial
management, banking and other financial institutions,
investments, and insurance.
Information Systems
The information systems major is offered for those who wish to specialize in
business-orientated information analysis and data
processing. The curriculum provides a broad overview of
computer based information systems, with special emphasis on
business applications and managerial control.
International Business
The international business major
provides an interdisciplinary program of study which
combines international studies and foreign language studies
with a business degree.
Management
Management majors are prepared for careers in either general
management (or in the specialization of human resource
management) or entrepreneurship.
Marketing
Preparation in marketing facilitates careers in advertising
management, consumer behavior, international marketing,
marketing research, quantitative marketing, and retailing
distribution.
Supply Chain Management
As one of the nation's leading
logistics center, Reno shares an ongoing and growing need
for professionals trained in the areas of logistics,
distribution, warehousing, transportation, and
manufacturing. The Supply Chain Management major offers
essential education for students with career objectives in
these fields.
