Dear Transfer Student,

Welcome to the College of Business Administration (COBA). We are pleased that you have decided to join the College and hope the information in this page to answer your questions.

Helpful hints for transfer students to enter the College of Business Administration :
  • First complete application procedures set by the University Transfer Center and complete intent to enroll process.
  • Please note that you need a 2.75 or higher GPA in lower division business courses, as described below, to be accepted into one of the undergraduate majors in the College of Business Administration. In case that you don’t meet this GPA requirement, you need to contact the COBA Advisement Center. Location: Room 409 in the Business Building, and Telephone: (775)784-4912.
  • The pre-business core consists of the following 9 courses:

Q. What can I do if I haven't met the 2.75 overall GPA requirement and I know business is what I want to major in?
A. Make an appointment to see an advisor for COBA transfer students. Office Location: Room 409 in the Business Building, Telephone: (775)784-4912.

Q. What transfer courses have been accepted by the University?
A. The DARS (Degree Audit Report System) will answer many of these questions, especially regarding the University Core requirements. The report will show what courses and total credits that have been accepted by the University. You may access your DARS in EPAWS on the UNR web site.

Q. What do I have remaining and how much longer do I have to graduate?
A. You will need to make an appointment to see an advisor for COBA transfer students. Office Location: Room 409 in the Business Building, Telephone: (775)784-4912. Bring with you with your DARS report and a copy of transcripts. This will give the advisor a history of the courses and credits you have completed. This enables the advisor to answer your questions.
